Do I need a boat license?

For rentals with skipper, no boat license is required. For rentals without skipper, a valid boating license is mandatory. All licenses issued by European Union countries are automatically accepted in Portugal.If your license was issued outside the European Union, you can contact us before booking and we will help you verify the equivalence according to Portuguese regulations.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

Cancellations made 7 days or more before the booking date receive a full refund.Cancellations made between 3 and 6 days before the trip receive a 50% refund.Cancellations within 48 hours before departure are non-refundable.If Island Boats Rentals cancels the trip due to bad weather or unforeseen circumstances, customers receive a full refund or can reschedule their booking.

All departures take place from Marina do Funchal, Madeira.After booking, we send you the exact meeting point and all useful information before your trip.

What is included in the boat rental?

Our boats include Bluetooth speakers, phone charger, snorkeling equipment, sunshade (Bimini top), comfortable cushions, bottled water, snacks and safety equipment.Some boats also include towable tubes and wakeboards for extra fun on the water.We make sure every trip is comfortable, safe and enjoyable.

How many people can join the trip?

Our boats can accommodate different group sizes depending on the model.The Bombard 640 can take up to 13 people (9 recommended for maximum comfort), while smaller boats are ideal for couples, families or small groups.

Is a deposit required?

For rentals without skipper, a €2000 security deposit is required before departure.The deposit covers potential damages or incidents during the rental period and is fully refunded after inspection if the boat is returned in good condition.
